COACHING

“90% of golf is mental, and the other 10% is mental, too.”

– Jim Flick

YOU LOVE TO PLAY GOLF

And yet, certain things mess with your mind and your ability to score well:

You’re on the tee and realize you are thinking about errands you should run on the way home.

You are tired of your “water” ball going in the water.

You feel anxious when a slower group of golfers invites you to play through. You always seem to play badly off that tee.

When you have a bad hole, you keep replaying the shots in your head, carrying them to the next hole and beyond.

You get nervous when a new person is paired with you or put in your foursome.

You three-putt too many times, and the feeling of incompetence moves in.

What if you could let go of these annoyances, enjoy yourself more on (and off) the course AND lower your golf score?

Game Changer

That’s exactly what you’ll learn to do
in my 8-week coaching program, Game Changer.

Game Changer is designed to help you work on the mental aspects of your game, on the course and off.
These changes will carry over into all areas of your life.

My program benefits all levels of golfers, including women who are thinking about playing golf, but are hesitant to try.

Session 1:
Setting Goals

We will identify where you desire change, on and off the course. We will look at where you are now and where you want to go. Each session will be individualized to achieve your desired results.

Session 2:
Minding Your Thoughts

I will teach you a simple framework for creating the results you want in any area of your life. We will begin applying it to your golf game. You may not realize it, but what you think about off the course, you bring to the course, and it affects your game.  (Maybe you do realize it, but do not know how to manage those thoughts for your benefit.)

Session 3:
Creating Confidence

So many women golfers downplay their own skills: “I’m not that good.” “That was just a lucky shot.” “ I can’t play this game.” We will work on creating more confidence on the course and off.

Session 4:
Building Confidence

We will continue addressing the feeling of confidence, including the difference between confidence and self-confidence. We will begin to practice the advice of Dr. Bob Rotella to “Play to play great; don’t play not to play poorly.”

Session 5:
Developing Positive Self-Talk

How you talk to yourself when you miss a putt, when you compare yourself to another golfer, when you walk up to a tee, and when you reach for a water ball … all of these have a huge impact on your golf game. I will teach you a tool to help you recognize the negative self-talk that could be sabotaging your golf game (and your relationships). We will cover how to eliminate negative self-talk and develop more positive habits of mind. Studies show positive self-talk is a significant predictor of success.

Session 6:
Eliminating Unnecessary Pain

We assign meaning to all situations through our thoughts. The meaning we assign may not be true and often causes us (and others) unnecessary pain. We will learn to view situations as neutral and choose what we will make them mean, which allows us to manage our emotions to better serve us.

Session 7:
The Art of  Self-Coaching

We will review and practice the art and skill of self-coaching. We will review all the lessons we’ve covered so far and create a plan to help you continue your self-coaching work on and off the course.

Session 8:
Playing Forward

We will recognize… and high-five!… the changes you have made and identify any future changes you would like to make. We will incorporate your future changes into your self-coaching work.
